ABSTRACT

An interventional urinary endoscopy is considered a sort of contaminated - clean surgery. Many prophylactic antibiotics were tested in order to reduce the intra and posk endoscopy risk of infection. We studied two comparatively similar groups of patients subjected to transwethral resection of the prostate, bladder tumor or visual internal urethrotomy. The first group of patients received 1 group cefotaxime before anesthesia. This study was extended to retrograde endolithotripsy. The results that we obtained were encouraging: the prophylactic antibiotherapy reduced the post -endoscopy urine infection up to 50% as well as the infectious simplication following ligh urinary endoscopy
